The best time to visit Nepal is from September to November (clear skies and pleasant weather) or February to May (warm weather and blooming rhododendrons). If you are planning for trekking in Nepal then avoid the monsoon season (June to August).

Nepali Rupee (NPR) is the official currency of Nepal. If you are traveling to Nepal, you can exchange it at the airport or border. In urban areas you can use ATM or credit card. Carry some cash with you for rural areas where cards may not be accepted.

If you are in Nepal, do not forget to try the famous Dal Bhaat (lentil curry with rice), Momos (dumplings), and Newari dishes. This is a traditional food there which must be tasted. Use only purified or bottled water to avoid health problems.

Nepal can be easily reached by road from Gorakhpur. From here it takes about 3:30 hours to reach Nepal Border (Sunauli Border), this distance is about 120 kilometers. It can take around 10 hours to reach Kathmandu from Gorakhpur, although this also depends on factors like road conditions and traffic.

To visit Nepal, Indian citizens must have documents like valid voter ID card, driving license, ration card, Aadhar card or PAN card. Indians aged 15 to 18 years can enter Nepal with a certificate of identity issued by the principal of their educational institution.
